OK! For this we use two common ReWire programs, Cubase and Reason. I use Cubase SX 2.0 and Reason 4.0...My home setup, because for me = more stability and stability is good, always in life. But no matter you version, Cubase Reason ReWire all MUCH SAME.

1. Double click Cubase Shortcut on Desktop!

Good. Well done. You will see Cubase NOW OPEN. Always open Cubase first, because Cubase is ReWire master (like my father Tai Chi master). In case you don’t know, master mean boss.

2. Click on small X to close project.

3. Choose New Project from File Menu.

4. From New Project Templates Menu choose Empty.

5. Select directory and click OK.

Good, well done, so far so good. 3 stars! And one for luck ;-)

6. Double click Reason Shortcut on Desktop!

You confused already? You lack discipline! Hehe

7. You will have the messages below maybe... Not to worry at all, just a little product of Rewire situation. Reason can’t set-up the control surface because this is now controlled by Cubase. Just click OK, OK, OK?

8....OK! Reason now OPEN. If you have an Empty Rack like me, good, you are quick thinker; you plan ahead, well done.

If you don’t have an Empty Rack, Get One Now!

9. Now look at sequencer, make sure Left and Right locator set some bars apart. Maybe two, maybe four maybe eight, I leave up to you (but enough for a loop). See screenshot for detail.
